Corbin was born in Lamesa, Texas, the son of Alma LaMerle (née Scott), a school teacher, and Kilmer Blaine Corbin, a judge and Texas state senator (1948-1956).[1] A former United States Marine, Corbin studied theater at Texas Tech.[2] Lamesa is a city in Dawson County, Texas, United States. ... He began his career as a Shakespearean actor back in the 1960s, but today Barry is most likely to be seen in the role of the local sheriff, military leader, or other authority figure, though on occasion, he has effectively portrayed murderous villains as well.
