Bake McBride was a Major League Baseball player who won the Rookie of the Year award in 1974, when he had a .309 batting average, despite only 6 home runs. He started with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1973 and played with them through the middle of 1977. Throughout his major league career he also played for the Philadelphia Phillies (1977-1981) and the Cleveland Indians (1982-1983).
