Built primarily as a baseball facility between 1994 and 1995, Lake Olmstead Stadium has been transformed by the GreenJackets into a versatile entertainment center for Augusta and the surrounding communities. The stadium seats 4,400, with nearly 1,000 box seats, 830 reserved seats, over 2,000 general admission seats, and also offers a large 500 person picnic area down the left field line and a Grill and Bar area down the right field line. Rome, GA - The Rome Braves lost to the Augusta Greenjackets 15-4 Sunday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 3,010.
Augusta tied the score 1-1 in the second inning as Mickey Hall was hit by a pitch off Rome starter Bryan Digby, stole second base and scored on Robert Evans single to right field.
The Greenjackets went on a scoring tear posting seven runs in the fourth inning, three runs in the fifth and seventh innings, and one run in the ninth to seal the victory.
