The Arakawa River (Japanese: 荒川) is one of the principal rivers flowing through Tokyo, the capital city of Japan. The point of origin is on Mount Kobushi in Saitama Prefecture, and the Arakawa empties into Tokyo Bay. The Arakawa is a sister river with the Potomac River in the United States.
