Steve Burnside (voiced by Bill Houston) is Claire's partner in the game and is a playable character during a short portion of the main story. He is another prisoner of Rockfort Island who manages to escape during the viral outbreak. Steve blames his father (a former Umbrella employee convicted of stealing) for his mother's death and his captivity in the island, but regains his ability to trust people when he teams up with Claire during the game. He and Claire eventually end up in Umbrella's Antarctic Facility, where he is captured by Alexia and used a test subject for the T-Veronica virus. Claire meets a chained Steve, who mutates into a Monster and attacks Claire, but eventually his body rejects the mutation and dies just after professing his love to her. Alfred Ashford

Alfred Ashford (voiced by Peter Oldring) is the initial antagonist during the first half of the game. He is the manager of the Rockfort Island facility and the seventh generation master of the once prestigious Ashford family. Alfred, along with Alexia are genetically altered twins created by their father from Veronica Ashford's DNA. However, he was not endowed with Veronica's superior intellect like his sister and is more of a lackey to Alexia than a serious villain. Due to his twin sister's absence, he developed a split personality disorder and poses as Alexia while she is away. Claire and Steve encounters Alfred in both of his personalities during their escape from Rockfort Island, eventually chasing them into the Antarctic Facility before dying from a wound inflicted to him by Steve. At this point, the player can pick up Alfred's sniper rifle and use it in the following battle against Nosferatu. By the time she was ten-years-old, she already graduated valedictorian at her university and became a researcher for the Umbrella Corporation. The real Alexia (who implanted herself with the T-Veronica Virus) later awakens from cryogenic sleep in the Antarctic Facility after Alfred's death and takes Claire and Steve captive. Chris later confronts Alexia in her mutated self during the second half of the game, in which she transform from a humanoid form into a giant dragonfly-like creature attached to a giant fallopian tube, all while still retaining her intelligence. Alexia has little to do with Code Veronica's story at first and she will be of little note at the beginning of the game apart from mysterious noting of her existence from files.
But as you progress through the game you as you find more out about the various parts of the Ashford family history and she will become an very important part of the story.
Alexia is also extremely intelligent, as you will find out during the game, and she was already a head scientist at Umbrella at a very young age.
    Reference.com/Encyclopedia/Alexia Ashford (931 words)
Alexia and Alfred were born in 1971 as offspring of Alexander Ashford's (the sixth generation headmaster of the Ashford clan) "Code: Veronica" project, an attempt to clone Veronica Ashford (the first matriarch of the Ashfords and worshipped by her descendants) by implanting her genes into an artificially inseminated ovum.
Alexia's final form and destruction mimics her and Alfred's torture of the dragonfly, as shown in the filmstrip in Alfred's trophy room early in the game.
Alexia refers to the mass of humanity as "ants" in her journal, and Chris must reassemble a dragonfly to form the key to the Antarctic facility's reactor room.
