Southern part of US is being flooded with people from across the country. Better weather and taxes are low. These surveys are such a joke. |

I agree with John .These figures are calculated interms of social and economical benefits . Most people would also take into account location , weather , acessability , type and density of population , social interation , proximity to recreational places and culture not merely tax percentage and social benefits . I used to live in Calif and NY and I enjoyed there much more than in Twin Cities or Wisconsin though I didnt save much . |

I suspect that New Hampshire's proximity to a major metropolitan area like Boston has certain benefits. |

I agree they should have factored in extreme temperatures (both hot and cold); and it doesn't look like they did. You couldn't pay me enough to live in any of the top 4 states...no matter how cultured the Twin Cities may be. :) |

They didn't consider Illegal alien and homosexual factors in the equation. |

If you have never visited or better lived here (John) You probably should not comment.
I have also live in FLA and TX and I will say i will take a winter storm over a hurricane anyday!!!
The beauty of the seasons we experience in the Northeast and Great Lakes regions, in my opinion is one of the great pleasures of life!!! |

Why is Mississippi last? I've been there before the hurricane and it was wonderful! What are you basing the stats on? |
Jeff (Twin Cities) 24th October 2007 |
I moved here recently to the twin cities, because of how high it was ranked and how nice everything was. But these statistics they post only hurt the states. in the end. The Twin Cities is now being overrun with thugs, homos, and third world immigrants. All the low lifes move to the nicer states and bring them down to their level. I will very soon be moving to another place more secluded until that place also gets overrun. |
Bob (Austin, TX) 24th March 2007 |
I can think of a place more cultured than the Twin Cities: how about Austin, TX? (And being the Live Music Capitol of the World, I'd have to say the Austin music scene is quite the envy of many U.S. cities)
Most people don't find the idea of extreme cold winters very appealing |

So, given their definition, is New Hampshire the best or the worst? I can't figure it out.
When they say they inverted positive rankings, what does that mean? Does it mean Mississippi came out the best, but they made it the worst?
Ugh. |
