There is a mistake in the Maryland listing. In Maryland it is legal to own a short barrel shotgun or rifle as long as it is registered as an SBR or SBS with the federal goverment under the National Firearms Act.

You made that error in a lot of the states above. It is a fairly common for states to pass a law stating "it is illegal to own unless it is owned in accordance with federal law." Which means that they are legal under the exact same circumstances as states that dont have those law. Ownership of the "banned" weapons you list is extremely common in Florida.

It only makes a difference for probable cause type arguments in criminal trials and if the feds ever decline to prosecute a criminal with a machine gun.

It's allowed to transport a machine gun through restricted states, under the McClure/Volkmer Act of 1986 signed into law by President Regan, just as long as one is passing through a restricted state against machine guns. One has to have a legal registered machine gun from the state they left, which allows registered machine guns, and destination is also a state that allows registered machine guns. According to the McClure/Volkmer Act a state does not allow machine guns cannot hassel you if your just passing through. And that's a fact Jack!

Almost all of this info is WRONG. In most states a lawful citizen can purchase and own a machine gun or short barreled rifle or shotgun with the proper paperwork. You just have to jump through the hoops at the BATF.

Can a felon own a air powered pellet gun in wisconsin or is that considerd a firearm?.
